The admission list is currently accessible through JAMB CAPS only. It is not yet available on the university’s admission portal.

Candidates may see any of the following messages when checking their admission status:

• ADMISSION OFFERED: JAMB has approved the candidate’s admission. The candidate can proceed to accept or reject the offer.
• ADMISSION IN PROGRESS (AIP): The university has reviewed the application and recommended the candidate for admission. Approval from the Head of Institution and final review by JAMB are still pending.
• RECOMMENDED: The university has considered the candidate for admission. The application is awaiting JAMB’s review to confirm that the necessary requirements have been met.
• NOT ADMITTED: The candidate has not been offered admission at this stage. This may mean that the relevant admission decision has not yet been released or the application is still under review.
• PENDING: The application remains under review and an admission decision has not yet been made.

How admitted candidates can accept or reject their admission

Candidates offered admission into OAU are to accept or reject their admission through either of the following methods:

1. Biometric verification: Visit an approved JAMB computer-based test (CBT) centre to accept or reject the admission offer through biometric verification.
2. Text message (SMS): Send ACCEPT or REJECT to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number registered with JAMB.

Candidates using the SMS option must have at least ₦50 in their main airtime balance. Borrowed airtime or Xtra Credit cannot be used for the service.

After accepting the admission offer, candidates must print their JAMB admission letter.
