LASU Indigeneship Verification Reopens 12–16 October

Lagos State University (LASU) has reopened its 2026/2027 Independent Indigeneship Verification Exercise portal for eligible Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) and other Direct Entry (DE) candidates. The special window runs from Monday, 12 October to Friday, 16 October 2026.

Who can take part

The opportunity is only for Lagos State indigenes who chose LASU as their first-choice institution during 2026 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration, are JUPEB graduates or other DE candidates and have not already completed the indigeneship verification exercise.

LASU says indigeneship clearance is required before eligible Lagos State candidates can be considered for admission. Clearance does not itself guarantee admission.

Payment, registration and screening

1. Visit the LASU indigeneship verification portal and check eligibility instructions.
2. Make any required payment only through the university’s authorised online payment channel, not an individual or agent.
3. Complete the online registration and keep both the payment receipt and registration confirmation.
4. Attend the physical verification with original documents, including the JAMB Direct Entry slip, Lagos State indigene evidence and payment or registration confirmation.
5. After successful screening, retain the LASU Indigeneship Clearance Certificate for admission processing.

Screening venue and deadline

The stated venue for candidates from all Lagos State divisions is the New TETFund Building, Faculty of Arts. Eligible candidates can contact the LASU Admissions Office for guidance. This special window ends on 16 October 2026.
