Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB) has released its 2026/2027 admission list for UTME and Direct Entry candidates.

  • Admission status is available through JAMB CAPS.
  • Candidates can check their status using the JAMB e-Facility portal.
  • Programme transfer offers must be addressed before admission offers.
  • Admission offers can be accepted or rejected through approved JAMB channels.
  • NAUB says admissions are uploaded in batches.

The Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB) admission list for the 2026/2027 academic session has been released. Candidates who applied for admission through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) or Direct Entry can now check their admission status online.

The university has uploaded admission information to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).

Candidates who receive admission offers are expected to respond promptly. Those offered a different programme from their original choice must first address the programme transfer before accepting admission.

How to check the NAUB admission list for 2026/2027

NAUB applicants can currently check their admission status through JAMB CAPS.

The checking procedure is as follows:

  1. Visit the JAMB e-Facility portal.
  2. Log in using the JAMB username and password.
  3. Scroll down and select Check Admission Status.
  4. Click Access my CAPS.
  5. Select Admission Status to find out whether NAUB has offered admission.

Candidates can also consult the JAMB CAPS guide for information about the admission platform.

How to access JAMB CAPS on a mobile phone

Some candidates using mobile phones may see only a welcome message when they open JAMB CAPS, without the admission status options.

In such cases, the desktop version of the page may be needed.

Candidates using Google Chrome can open the browser menu and select Request desktop site. This allows the browser to display the desktop version of the portal, where the full admission options may be accessible.

What the admission status messages on JAMB CAPS mean

After checking their admission status, candidates may encounter different messages on JAMB CAPS.

Each message indicates a particular stage of the admission process.

Admission offered

This means JAMB has approved the candidate’s admission.

The candidate can proceed to accept or reject the admission offer through the approved process.

Admission in progress (AIP)

This means the institution has reviewed the application and recommended the candidate for admission.

The admission process is still ongoing, with the recommendation awaiting the necessary institutional approval and JAMB’s final review.

An AIP message does not mean the admission process has been completed.

This indicates that the institution has considered the candidate for admission and the application is awaiting JAMB’s review.

JAMB must still assess the recommendation against the necessary admission criteria.

Not admitted

This means the candidate has not yet received an admission offer.

The message may appear while an application is still awaiting consideration or when admission information has not been fully released.

NAUB has indicated that admission information will be uploaded in batches, so candidates who see this status should continue checking the portal.

Pending

This means the application remains under review and an admission decision has not yet been made.

Candidates with this status should check again for updates.

How to accept or reject NAUB admission

NAUB has outlined two categories of admission processing, depending on whether candidates are offered their preferred programme or transferred to another programme.

Candidates admitted into their chosen programme

Candidates offered admission into the programme they originally selected should proceed to accept or reject the admission offer.

Candidates offered a different programme

Candidates transferred to a programme other than their original choice must first respond to the transfer offer.

The process is as follows:

  1. Check the programme transfer offer.
  2. Accept or reject the proposed transfer.
  3. If the transfer is accepted, subsequently accept the admission offered into the new programme.

The distinction is important because accepting a programme transfer is not the same as accepting the subsequent admission offer.

Approved methods for responding to an admission offer

According to the admission instructions, candidates can accept or reject admission offers through biometric verification at an approved JAMB centre or office.

The specified options include:

  • An approved JAMB CBT centre.
  • A JAMB office.
  • SMS using the phone number registered with JAMB.

For the SMS option, candidates should send ACCEPT or REJECT to 55019 or 66019, depending on their decision.

The instructions state that candidates need ₦50 available in their main airtime balance. Borrowed airtime or Xtra Credit cannot be used for the transaction.

After successfully accepting admission, candidates should proceed to print their JAMB admission letter.

Important information for NAUB admission applicants

NAUB has stated that admission information will be uploaded in batches.

This means candidates may receive different admission status messages while processing continues. Applicants who have not received an offer should check their JAMB e-Facility accounts regularly for changes.

The university’s instructions also emphasise that candidates who receive admission or programme transfer offers must respond as soon as possible.

Failure to respond promptly may result in forfeiture of the offer.
